Malaria is spread by mosquitoes, which transmit the parasites that cause the infection, usually in tropical and subtropical parts of the world.

If your are wondering how long the plaquenil takes to work, it took about 3 months before I starting feeling better. Now at 6 months I’m noticing more symptoms. All work by suppressing the immune system. If he wants this type of drug he can try to balance control of his autoimmune disease with the risk of infection. What I mean is He might want to consider taking a lower dose of Plaquenil. This won't suppress his immune system quite as much but it also won't completely control his Sjogrens. Plaquenil questions - I was just prescribed plaquenil to treat the cyst form of lyme. The usage of the drug says it is to suppress the immune system in the treatment of lupus. Why would you want to do this if you have lyme. I thought steriods and drugs that suppress the immune system make treatment much slower. I am reluctant to take it.
